Produce of the Month

The produce for the month of October will spice up your life! Chilli’s not only turn up the heat in a meal but are also a good source of nutrients. These include vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin K1, potassium, copper and vitamin A.
Chilli is also a good source of bioactive plant compounds. These act like antioxidants and have numerous health benefits. These include violaxanthin, capsanthin, lutein, capsaicin, sinapic acid and ferulic acid.
One study found that regular consumers of 50g of chilli a day were 25% less likely to be overweight obese than those who did not eat chili regularly in their diet. However, if you wanted to make more of a substantial change to your waistline the temperature you live in may increase how much you want to eat by much more of a significant amount.
