Firstly, it is important to mention that getting older is a privilege and age does not mean that life is reduced. If, however, you are interested in foods which may help delay the onset of menopause, below are five foods which you may like to include in your diet:

  1. Lean Red Meat

This may surprise you but higher red meat intake in your diet is linked to a later onset of menopause. It is important to take this fact and look at other areas of health too. The World Cancer Research Fund and The Heart Foundation recommend no more than 350-500g of red meat a week to reduce your risk of certain cancers like colorectal cancer.

  1. Seafood

Include seafood daily in your diet may reduce your onset of menopause by an amazing three years! This is due to the polyunsaturated fat omega-3 fat which supports the balance of your hormones. Note there are certain fish with higher levels of mercury the amount you eat of certain seafood should be moderated in this case. It is safe, to consume a tin of 95g tuna daily without risk of overdoing the levels of mercury.

  1. Yellow and Green Vegetables

All vegetables and a variety are recommended for overall health. The yellow and green colours may be of particular interest as these contain compounds and nutrients which may help to slow the onset of menopause.

  1. Skim Milk

Swapping a full fat milk for skim may not only help you to maintain and keep a healthy weight but may also help to slow the progression into menopause.

  1. Soy

Soy is a nutrient dense powerhouse which is full of many nutrients including phytoestrogens. Soy can be found in tofu, edamame, soybeans, and miso. The phytoestrogens may have an impact on your reproductive hormones and delay menopause.

Corn Thins has an extensive range of recipes and includes topping with all the above amongst the plethora of choices. Check the recipes out by following this link: https://www.cornthins.com
